Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) held a Cricket Gala 2012 in the F-6 Cricket Ground, which was attended by a large number of PTCL employees and their families.
The tournament was inaugurated by PTCL Senior Executive Vice President HR, Mr. Syed Mazhar Hussain. PTCL CEO & President, Mr. Walid Irshaid; Chairman PTA, Dr. Mohammad Yasin; Chairman PEMRA, Dr. Abdul Jabbar; and Member PTCL Board of Directors, Dr. Ismail graced the occasion as chief guests.
“PTCL firmly believes that its growth and production depends on our employees’ sustained motivation and enthusiasm for their hard work,” said Mr. Walid Irshaid, while addressing the prize distribution ceremony. “We always encourage our management and staff to strike a balance between work and play, and this initiative is a glowing example of our corporate philosophy. PTCL has plans for further boosting its sports activities.”
The exciting tournament was played between PTCL departmental teams of HR, Administration & Procurement; Commercial; Technical; Finance & Audit; and Business Development. All teams exhibited enthralling sportsmanship, while HR, Administration & Procurement was winner of the final match.
Employees’ families and children participated enthusiastically in the day-long sports gala, where food, refreshments and other fun-filled activities were also provided for participants.
At the end of the event, a friendly match was also played between PTCL SEVPs and EVPs. A prize distribution ceremony followed in which the Final Match Winning Team; Man of the Match (Final), Salman Arshad; Man of the Series, Akhlaq Ahmad; and Man of the Match (SEVPs vs EVPs), Taimur Qadar Khattak, were given trophies and prizes by the Chief Guests.
