Ideal Distribution Line recently honored Riaz Asher Siddiqui, CEO-Universal Service Fund with “CEO of the Year” award at the Ideal ICT Excellence Awards Ceremony. The award was presented in recognition of the enthusiasm which Asher not only displayed as an individual but instilled within the whole organization promoting ICT technologies in Pakistan and taking potential steps ahead with USF.
Asher Siddiqui is well known amongst the industry for the planning, designing and implementation of the most reliable network within Pakistan in his earlier days. He is also the man behind ice breaking business for Alcatel-Lucent with Mobilink at a time when Siemens and Motorola were enjoying monopoly. Introducing HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) Technology in Pakistan, Mr. Asher is also the man behind many other projects which were successfully and economically implemented during harsh physical and socio-economical times.
Earlier this year, Riaz Asher Siddiqui was rewarded as the “Best Telecom & IT Professional of the Year” during the Consumer Choice Awards by the Consumer Association of Pakistan for providing state of the art ICT infrastructure and facilities in the underprivileged areas of Pakistan.
As a proactive telecom professional and leader with an experience of over 25 years in business development and management of multimillion dollar IT and telecom projects, Mr. Asher has taken USF to greater heights through a unique blend of technical and commercial expertise. In addition to promoting ICT inside Pakistan, he has not stopped at national level and has taken his enthusiasm beyond borders by publishing many articles in international publications and giving speeches and presentations at international forums. His efforts have helped building not only a stronger ICT infrastructure within Pakistan but also a tech-savvy image of the modern day Pakistan in international media.
