Gabor Kocsis appointed as Chief Financial Officer, Telenor Pakistan

ISLAMABAD

Gabor Kocsis, will be taking over as Chief Financial Officer, Telenor Pakistan while Karl Erik Broten, currently Chief Financial Officer Telenor Pakistan, will be joining DiGi Malaysia as CFO. Both these changes will be effective from 15May 2013.

Gabor Kocsis has 17 years of financial management experience. He has been associated with Telenor since 1993, working in Hungary, Serbia and Norway. Presently he is member of the board of directors for Telenor Sweden and Senior Vice President for global ERP in Oslo, Norway.  He has extensive experience as CFO both in Telenor Hungary and Telenor Serbia.

I am confident that together we can further enhance the financial standing of Telenor Pakistan and take it to even greater heights” said Gabor Kocsis, appointed CFO of Telenor Pakistan.

Karl Erik Broten joined Telenor Pakistan as Chief Financial Officer in 2009 and under his leadership the finance division has developed in many areas in order to support the company’s strategic goals. He will be joining his new position as CFO on 15 May in DiGi, Malaysia. DiGi is a mobile telecommunications subsidiary of Telenor Group and have been operating in Malaysia for the past 17 years.

“This has been an incredible journey and having been a part of the last four years makes me extremely proud. However all good things come to an end and I know it will be again hard to say goodbye to good colleagues I have learned to appreciate and respect. I wish Telenor Pakistan all the best and thank them all for the very good cooperation”, said Karl Erik Broten, outgoing CFO of Telenor Pakistan.

I wish Karl the very best of luck in his new role”, said Lars Christian Iuel, CEO Telenor Pakistan. “At the same time I am delighted to have Gabor on the team and am confident that through his vast financial acumen and in-depth knowledge we will be able to maintain and further solidify our very strong number two position in the market”.
