Acting Chairman, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Dr Syed Ismail Shah called on Ms. Anusha Rehman, State Minister for IT & Telecom Division in Islamabad here today. The Acting Chairman PTA during the meeting with the State Minister discussed various short terms and long term measures to facilitate and regulate telecom industry of Pakistan.
Ms. Anusha Rehman congratulated him on his charge assumption and hoped that he would prove to be an asset for the regulatory authority in tackling various challenges that are faced by the IT Industry in the country these days.
With constitution of PTA Authority it is hoped that the telecom sector would be able to show further progress and steps would be taken to resolve outstanding issues. During the meeting the Acting Chairman PTA also apprised the Minister of State for IT & Telecom Ms.Anusha Rahman Ahmad Khan about the matters pertaining to telecom industry.
The government in compliance with Supreme Court s orders has appointed three members in PTA through a competitive process. Dr Syed Ismail Shah was appointed Member Technical and given acting charge of the chairman PTA.
