The first Intercompany Table Tennis Tournament, organized by Pakistan Table Tennis Academy (PTTA), concluded here at Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex, Rawalpindi.
The tournament saw players from a diverse group of organizations competing in categories of Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles.
PTCL SEVP HR, Syed Mazhar Hussain was the Chief Guest at the occasion and distributed awards among the top performing players in all categories.
PTCL’s Azka Hamid clinched the top spot in the Women’s Singles while PTCL’s Saira Javed and Tasneem Akhtar grabbed the second and third place in the same category.
In the Women’s Doubles category, PTCL players performed well by clinching the top two positions. The final was won by Azka Hamid & Adila Rashid who defeated Tasneem Akhtar & Saira Javed. PTCL’s Asim Akhtar & Imran ul Haq also secured third position in the Men’s Double’s.
Syed Mazhar Hussain, PTCL SEVP HR said at the occasion, “Pakistan Table Tennis Academy’s initiative for promoting sports in the corporate sector is indeed commendable. Activity likes these develop healthy competition and also provide networking opportunities for employees of different organizations. The active participation of women in the event proves that they are equally talented in every competitive arena.”
