ISLAMABAD (BMZ REPORT)
Ministry of Information Technology and telecom issued draft of law to curb cyber crime . It called the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2013. It shall also apply notwithstanding the matters being the subject hereof occurring outside Pakistan in so far as they are directly or indirectly connected to, or have an effect on or bearing in relation to persons, information systems or events within the territorial jurisdiction of Pakistan.
The new proposed act extands to the whole of Pakistan. Federal Investigation Agency will be responsible to investigate the cases but it will get warrant from session court or magistrate. Time frame to complete investigate and prosecution is very much clear. All cases will be hear in session courts for this purpose all session court officer will get special training.

To make provision for prevention of the electronic crimes
WHEREAS it is expedient to prevent unauthorised acts with respect to information systems, establish
related offences, provide mechanisms for investigation, prosecution, trial and international cooperation with
respect thereof;
1. Short title, extent application and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Prevention of
Electronic Crimes Act, 2013.
(2) It extends to the whole of Pakistan.
(3) It shall also apply notwithstanding the matters being the subject hereof occurring outside Pakistan, in
so far as they are directly or indirectly connected to, or have an effect on or bearing in relation to persons,
information systems or events within the territorial jurisdiction of Pakistan.
