Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed that Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) must ensure transparency in the spectrum auction process. He issued these directions while chairing a meeting to review grey traffic monitoring and status of telecom spectrum auction here in Islamabad today. The meeting was attended by Minister Finance Mr. Ishaq Dar, Minister of State for Information Technology Ms. Anusha Rahman, Secretary Information Technology Division and Chairman PTA.
Ms. Anusha Rehman briefed the Prime Minister regarding monitoring mechanism to check grey traffic and the latest status of spectrum auction being processed by PTA.
Prime Minister directed that the process of spectrum auction should be completely transparent. He further directed that strict action should be taken against those involved in the practice of grey traffic.
