Salman Wassay forced to resign from UFONE

In a recent development in the telecom sector of Pakistan, Asher Yaqub Khan, one of the most veteran telecom experts has replaced Salman Wassay, Chief Commercial Officer of Ufone. It was learnt through our very reliable sources that the Group forced Salman Wassay to resign as he was not achieving the required results even after serving Ufone for long.

For our readers, it is pertinent to mention here that Etisalaat Group picked Salman Wassay from Zong who was the marketing head there. Salman Wassay then made many structural changes within Ufone to satisfy himself. He even brought in his favorite team members to have a smooth flight. But the Group didn’t get any significant achievement due to his induction.

During the reign of Salman Wassay, Ufone launched Uth Pack, a brand for the youth of Pakistan, which did not get the expected success, which is why the Group put him under observation. The Group recently decided to off-load him and brought back another reputable former team member.

In another development, Akbar Khan who was serving as Chief Marketing Officer at Ufone has been asked to report in Group’s head office at Dubai. Etisalaat Group earlier picked Akbar Khan who was serving Mobilink as Head of Brands at Mobilink.

Reshuffles, inductions and many other structural changes are expected to take place within Ufone in days to come.
