ISLAMABAD ( BMZ REPORT )
Telenor Pakistan boasts multiple HR recognition awards and was proudly coveted the “Most Preferred Employer” in the country according to survey by Rozee.pk in 2012. The company does not believe in sourcing talent from just the few popular universities in Pakistan but has practically proved its motto of looking for a good behavioral fit in each employee or intern. Building upon it’s ideology of inclusion, the company recently launched an online recruitment drive for its Summer Internship Program, 2014 where they are encouraging students from all across Pakistan to apply and be a part of the company.
To promote the program, Telenor Pakistan’s Recruitment team from Human Capital Division held an hour long digital interactive session with their Facebook and Twitter audience. The team consisting of Director HR Shared Services Mohsin Nishat, Assistant Manager Recruitment and Branding Suhaib Baloch and Employer Branding and Recruitment Officer Sarah Cheema interacted with interested applicants on Telenor Pakistan’s social media platforms highlighting the transparent recruitment processes and practices, the benefits and differentiating aspects of working in Telenor and the countless opportunities of personal and professional growth in the forthcoming 8 week challenging Internship Program. The team also answered multiple queries regarding the recruitment process, choosing the right department and Telenor’s values of Equal Employment Opportunity. They guided the applicants about solving the online test and preparing for internship interviews as well.
The activity was promoted through an open Facebook event to reach out to aspiring students across Pakistan. On this occasion, Muhammad Shoaib Baig – Vice President HCD said: “We are thankful to everyone who participated in the engagement session with the HR team. At Telenor, we believe in Equal Employment Opportunity and look forward to nationwide participation in the Summer Internship Program 2014. Gear yourself for real time projects in a dynamic work environment and immense work empowerment at Telenor.”
Last year, a total of 18,000 applications were received for the Summer Internship Program. Overall, it was a successful initiative by the HR team amassing great engagement on Facebook and Twitter alike.
