ISLAMABAD ( ABRAR MUSTAFA )
Three officers have been promoted to Director General at Pakistan Telecom Authority in Annual Departmental Promotion committee meeting last week. These officers that all belong from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been promoted due to their hard work and impressive capabilities. The names of the officers are Abdus Samad, Nisar Ahmad and Wasiullah. It is interesting to note that all three hail from KPK and none were promoted that belonged to other provinces like Punjab Sindh and Baluchistan of the country.
Among the promoted officers, is Mr Abdus Samad, who is being backed strongly to be named member Enforcement and Compliance of PTA. With this promotion his case has been made more strong and it seems he will be nominated by Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
The balance in the PTA has now tilted in favor of KPK as Chairmen Dr. Syed Ismail Shah and Member Finance Tariq Sultan also belong from the same province. A national organization of this level should have representation from all provinces of Pakistan.
Strong resentment and reservations are being shown across the telecom sector as the apex body of telecom sector has a diminishing representation from other provinces of Pakistan. The Government should take serious notice of this and take necessary action.
