Apple on Monday said it has sold more than 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models. This is a new record, just three days after the launch on September 19. The device vendor did not disclose the break up between iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The company is facing shortage of iPhone 6 Plus and there will be a delay of at least 30 days to deliver the iPhone 6 Plus after the pre-booking. “Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.
“While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible,” Cook added.
iPhone 6 launch date In the U.S., the new iPhones are available through AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and additional carriers, and Apple Authorized Resellers including Best Buy, Radio Shack, Target and Walmart. In addition to U.S., iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the U.K.
Apple will roll out iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to more than 20 additional countries on September 26, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Isle of Man, New Zealand, and United Arab Emirates. Both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available in 115 countries by the end of the year.
