Mobilink Foundation has commissioned the infrastructure up-gradation at Pehli Kiran School System (PKSS) in collaboration with Borish BV, Netherlands. Under the ambit of this initiative Mobilink Foundation will improve and renovate sanitation and hygiene facilities at PKSS to ensure a healthy environment for students. Pehli Kiran Schools are operating in the squatters around Islamabad and currently lack toilets and other basic sanitation facilities posing a hazard to the environment and a major predicament to the health of students and school administration.
Mobilink Foundation, under its ‘Karo Kitab Se Dosti’ Program, also conducted a book reading and reading assistance activity. The event was attended by Mobilink’s Management and Volunteers who donated collected books and funds for the Mobilink PKSS Mobile Library. The activities were also attended by the Management of Borish BV who joined the event virtually from the Netherlands through Mobilink’s 3G Connectivity.
Omar Manzur Head of Corporate Communications, Mobilink commenting on the initiative said, “Mobilink Foundation remains committed to the betterment of lives across Pakistan and our association with PKSS is reflective of this commitment to the communities we operate in. PKSS has been playing a pivotal role in providing education to the marginalized strata of our society and we are proud of our three year affiliation with the school. This initiative is a way of extending support to promote education among the under privileged school children.”
Mobilink Foundation and PKSS have been working together since 2012. Mobilink Torchbearers have been actively participating in both educational and infrastructure development initiatives during these years. Mobilink Foundation has also donated a mobile library to the School which is continues to educate children across Islamabad campuses of PKSS.
