On direction of the National Assembly Standing Committee on IT & Telecom, technical committee comprising of technical and legal experts and MNAs has started reviewing the proposed prevention of electronic crime bill 2015.
Minister for IT & Telecom Ms. Anusha Rahman chaired the first session of “bill review meeting” here in Islamabad today. Special Assistants to the Prime Minister Khawaja Zaheer Ahmad, Barrister Zafarullah Khan, Maj ® Tahir Iqbal, Sardar Awais Khan Leghari, Federal Secretary IT Mr. Azmat Ali Ranjha, Chairman, PTA, Members Telecom & Law and other IT & legal experts were present in the meeting.
The Minister said that the committee will minutely analyze this Cyber Bill 2015 clause by clause in order to make it more compatible with National Action Plan. It is no doubt a gigantic task and we have to have lengthy session of discussions. In view of exaggerating terrorist threats in the country, the committee is reviewing the Cyber Crime Bill in order to make it consistent with National Action Plan, Minister added.
