National Foods moves SAP to Rapid Compute’s cloud

ISLAMABAD ( BMZ REPORT )

National Foods Limited and Rapid Compute – the cloud computing division of Cybernet – announced the successful migration of the first core ERP SAP Landscape Hosting on the Rapid Compute IAAS cloud. National Foods will be relying on Rapid Compute for hosting the entire SAP landscape including disaster recovery on its cloud. The installation will be spread across multiple cloud sites in Pakistan.

National Foods journey to the cloud from on-premises servers was gradual and carefully evaluated at each transitional step. Partnering with Rapid Compute, National Foods chalked out a plan whereby the entire SAP landscape was migrated in phases. At each step of the process, both teams worked hand in hand to test, migrate and manage instances on the cloud ensuring no hiccups for end-users. During planning, RapidCompute engineers and NFL teams also performed numerous proofs of concepts for database replication, high availability and disaster recovery scenarios. The solution is deployed across multiple availability zones of Rapid Compute to provide datacenter level redundancy and low latency.

Syed Zeeshan Ali, General Manager IT of National Foods added: “We have a long standing relationship with Cybernet as our MPLS connectivity provider. With Rapid Compute, we were able to migrate our mission critical workload to the cloud and to increase security and reliability for our end users.”

To commemorate this occasion, an event was held at RapidCompute’s facility in Karachi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Abrar Hassan, CEO of National Foods was pleased with the smooth transition to the cloud and noted “Our experience with Cybernet and RapidCompute has been very positive. We hope that this collaboration will set a precedent for the future and encourage other organizations to leverage the cloud for their SAP and other ERP requirements.”
