Minister for IT Baluchistan Mr. Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal called on Minister of state for IT& Telecom Mrs. Anusha Rahman here in Islamabad today. Secretary IT Baluchistan Dr. Umer Babar was also accompanying with the Minister.
Anusha Rahman while talking to the IT Minister Baluchistan said that federal government is already focusing on the development of unserved/underserved areas of Pakistan and committed to provide connectivity to all such areas. Recently, three rural telephony projects have been approved by USF Board which will be executed in Sibi, Zhob & Shangla. In Baluchistan- Sibi lot four districts namely Sibi, Barkhan, Killa Saifullah & Loralai will be included and 258 Mauza’s with the population of around 437508 will get connected. Likewise, in Zhob lot, districts Musakhel, Sherani & Zhob having 186 mauzas with population of around 386126 will be connected.
Anusha Rahman further said that we are going to establish a state of the art technology park on some 45 acres land here in Islamabad with assistance of Korean Exim Bank and two more technology parks are in the offing to be built.
Anusha Rahman gladly shared that our telecentre project” which is being executed by USF has entered in to an implementation phase and we are going to build telecentres in rural areas of Baluchistan as well. These telecentres will work as resource centres providing basic telecom, NADRA related services e-services in first phase to the inhabitants of these areas.
Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, appreciated the endeavors of the federal government and Ministry of Information Technology for the development of un-served/under-served areas of Baluchistan and felicitated the Minister on successful implementation of “e-office system in Ministry of IT, and requested for assistance in replication of e-office module in Baluchistan.
Minister of state for IT assured her utmost cooperation to the provincial IT Minister and expressed her resolve to provide e office suite to Baluchistan as well
