In an agreement signed between National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) and Mobilink whereas, Mobilink has agreed to provide its telecommunication services and products to the customers of NTC. Under the agreement, Mobilink will extend its GSM services and provide mobile handsets to NTC at discounted rates for onward provision to different government departments and officials. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Viqar Rashid Khan, Chairman – NTC, and Mr. Jeffrey Hedberg, President & CEO – Mobilink, while the agreement was signed between Maj (Retd.) Asim Jillani, DG (Operations) – NTC, and Mr. Aamir Ibrahim, CCO & Deputy CEO – Mobilink on behalf of their respective organizations.
“Mobilink has always assisted the government in whatever capacity we can and this deal allows us to extend our state-of-the-art services, at affordable rates, to various governmental employees and organizations. This partnership with NTC is certainly in line with our commitment to this country, and we will continue servingPakistan to the best of our abilities. I am confident that NTC’s customer base will appreciate our superior voice services and reap the benefits it entails,” said Jeffrey Hedberg.
Adding his views about the public-private partnership, Viqar Rashid Khan expressed, “Since our inception in 1996, we have continued to provide the most innovative ICT services to all governmental wings. We, in part, also owe our success to the private sector operators like Mobilink, because we always look to partner up with these telcos to enhance our capabilities and facilitate our customer base at affordable rates.”

Mr. Viqar Rashid Khan also expressed that NTC has been created and given official mandate to provide ICT services to Armed Forces, Defense Projects, Federal Government, Provincial Government or such other Government agencies or Governmental institutions as the Federal Government may determine. He further added that after signing the agreement NTC will be able to provide GSM/3G and other allied services to Government Departments as per their demands and requirements.
