Intel Pakistan concluded the second of two Punjab Science Fairs in the run-up to the Intel® International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel® ISEF), one of the world’s largest pre-college science competitions, to be held in Phoenix, Arizonain May 2016. During the Punjab Science Fairs, students from across the province presented research-based projects in the categories of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Mathematics and Physics. More than 160students and 51teachers from Punjab registered in the fair with a total of 70 projects. Dr. Sohail Naqvi, Vice Chancellor, LUMS was the Chief Guest, while Dr. Asim Yousaf, Chief Medical Officer, SKMCH&RC was the Guest of Honor at the event.
Winners of the Punjab Science Fair will be eligible to compete at the National Science Fair, which will take place in Islamabad early next year. Projects will be assessed by a panel of renowned judges, covering a broad range of science and engineering disciplines.
“Intel has sponsored the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) for almost 2 decades now, and each year we have witnessed tremendous talent flowing from all over the world. ISEF is a great platform for youth as they interact with each other and share insights and experiences which help them gain confidence,” said Naveed Siraj, Country Manager, Intel Pakistan. “I hope that the students gain more this year in terms of personal growth through healthy, constructive competition and make our country proud.”
