Microsoft Pakistan briefs media on its broad-based social initiatives

Microsoft Pakistan conducted a press conference on its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The event was held at Microsoft’s Karachi Office on 3rd February 2016. The General Manager of Microsoft NEPA region – Ms Leila Surhan personally graced the occasion and was also accompanied by the Country Manager of Microsoft Pakistan – Mr. Nadeem Malik. The two senior executives of Microsoft briefed the media about the scope and impact of the generous social development ventures launched by Microsoft Pakistan, with particular emphasis on the upcoming employability portal being created by Microsoft.

Another vital initiative orchestrated by Microsoft Pakistan is the “Internet safety & security campaign”. Under this campaign, teachers, students, entrepreneurs and users can learn how to use the internet safely. Microsoft Pakistan is supporting NGOs in terms of ‘Software Donation programme’ and capacity building trainings, to improve their performance by promoting automated functionality. Through this programme, Microsoft has been donating advanced software to various important institutions, thus building capacity in the country.
The Microsoft Pakistan Employability Portal (Rozgar) is designed to deliver comprehensive online facilities for; youth which include Teachers, Students and Entrepreneurs. The idea behind this initiative is to help the human resources learn soft skills, while bridging the gap between Job-seekers and employment opportunities available in market. Microsoft Pakistan has collaborated with credible international and local NGOs for operating this broad-based initiative.
