TelecoAlert.com has learnt through various confirmed sources that the Government of Pakistan is mulling over new contracts for Chinese information technology firms. This news come from reports that numerous western companies that have been supporting Government of Pakistan with its IT needs have supplied strategic and sensitive information to Western government and agencies.
In numerous high meetings it has been revealed to key stakeholders that western companies that have been working for Pakistani Government have used their position to gather key information about sensitive departments of the country.
Due to sensitive nature of the information, the Government is currently in process to award new contracts whereby all its information and data sharing needs will be taken care by Chinese companies.
This step shows that the Government has finally started to take steps to curb leakage of information from its departments. It is yet to be seen which company will be awarded the contract.
