Foundation University Medical College (FUMC) organized its Annual Day. Maj Gen Dr Akhtar Waheed HI(M) (Retd), Director Foundation University Islamabad Campus was the chief guest.
The chief guest distributed Gold Medals, Silver Medals, Distinction Certificates and Merit Certificates among the students of MBBS on their respective academic achievements. The Director also distributed cash prizes among the winners of various co-curricular activities.
While addressing the audience, Maj Gen Dr Akhtar Waheed HI(M) (Retd) said that the FUMC has covered several milestones of development and today it stands out as a distinguished institution among medical colleges of the country. “The well-designed purpose built campus of the college is located in proximity of the teaching hospital and provides a student-friendly atmosphere highly conducive for learning” he emphasized. He informed the audience that a state-of-the-art College of Dentistry has been added to campus and launching of five-year programme in physiotherapy has further expanded the academic horizon of FUIC.
He said, “FUI has always encouraged co-curricular activities alongside the exhausting academic schedules.”
While felicitating the students who achieved academic excellence in various university examinations, he said this performance is reflective to the hard work and devotion of the students, for which they genuinely deserve appreciation. He also admired the role of faculty in scholastic growth of students.
