According to sources in FIA, it has been learned that the Ex-Chairman PEMRA and current DG Technical Dr Abdul Jabbar has allegedly fled the country to United Kingdom.
According to various sources, Dr. Jabbar has fled the country from Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) due to his involvement in PEMRA fake recruitment case that led to various illegal appointments.
Last year, FIA arrested the former Chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) along with three other officers due to their involvement in illegal appointments. Hazrat Ali, who was the Additional Director of agency’s crime cell supervised the raid in which Jabbar and the three member PEMRA committee that included Sardar Irfan Ashraf, Safdar Rehman and Shehzad Nawaz Cheema were arrested. Dr Jabbar was on bail.
The suspects had allegedly advertised for 18 vacancies within the electronic media watchdog but hired 60 personnel for personal financial gains.
