Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rahman discussed developments in Pakistan’s information and communication technology sector (ICT) with Chairman and Founder of Alibaba Group Jack Ma, according to a press release.
Ms Rahman is currently on a visit to Geneva for participation in the ongoing United Nations Conference on Trade and Development E-Commerce Week 2017.
During the meeting, the minister briefed Mr Ma on recent developments in the IT and telecom sector in Pakistan as more than 40 million people were connected through mobile broadband in the last two years. Ms Rahman highlighted several initiatives being undertaken for ICT penetration in the country.
