In surprising news it has been learnt that the current CEO of Ufone, Mr. Rainer Rathgeber will be stepping down.
According to the details made available to Telecoalert.com, this was decided in a meeting chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting who is also the head of Board of Directors of Ufone. Mr. Rashid Khan has been announced as the next CEO of Ufone, we have confirmed this with various sources.
No official reason has yet been revealed but those privy to the situation say that Mr. Rainer was not popular among the employees and C level individuals in PTCL and Ufone. Numerous complaints had been made against Mr. Rainer aggressive behavior and he was rather stiff with others.
Mr Rashid will be replacing the outgoing CEO, Mr. Rainer Rathgeber, a German national who had joined the company 18 months ago. He was expected to oversee the merger between Ufone and PTCL which has been long been anticipated.
