An astonishing development has been reported to TelecoAlert.com by various sources within the HEC and PTA. Wishing to remain unnamed, they have reported that HEC has been reportedly selling telecommunication services.
Telecom sector of the country is regulated and monitored by Pakistan Telecom Authority. To offer telecommunication services of any kind, an entity must have a license from the Regulatory authority. However HEC has neither the permission nor the license to sell any services.
The internet services providers raised this issue with telecom authority which is investigating and founded unlicensed and illegal activity.
