DigiSkills collaborates with Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) at the Annual Job Fair, held to develop a platform for young graduates to find jobs. Dr. Zafar Alvi, Project Director DigiSkills graced the occasion along with other representatives of the corporate sector.
The purpose of this event was to provide an opportunity for the graduates from the disciplines of Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Computer Sciences and Media Sciences, to interact the corporate sector. More than 30 top ranked companies from the industry participated in this 1-day exercise; some notable names include Zameen.com, Ufone, Ideas, PTCL, Faysal Bank, Meezan Investments, Shifa Foundation, Serena Hotels, Jubilee Insurance etc. The Job Fair provided an excellent opportunity for participating companies to connect with fresh, energetic talent and position themselves as preferred employers.
In his keynote address Dr. Zafar Alvi, Project Director DigiSkills shed light on the importance of such events to bridge the gap between the educational institutes and professional arena. He further added that the courses offered at DigiSkills would equip the aspiring candidates with the skills required to succeed in the job hunting process. “Every individual should do a self-assessment to find out what makes him different from his fellow classmates” he said.
DigiSkills.pk is Pakistan’s largest online training program, developed and run through Ignite, under the ambit of Ministry of Information Technology & Telecom. It is providing free online training in 10 different courses including Freelancing, E-Commerce Management, Digital Literacy, Digital Marketing, AutoCAD, WordPress, Creative Writing, Quick Books, Graphic Design and Search Engine Optimization. All specialized skills, which once learned can enhance one’s ability to earn, improve career prospects and surge business growth. All courses are government certified and verifiable by the issuing authority.
