After the successful launch of first one-of-a-kind drive-thru Covid-19 vaccination facility in Lahore, The Bank of Punjab, in collaboration with Federal Health Department, Capital Development Authority and District Administration Islamabad, has taken initiative to establish another drive-thru vaccination facility in the Country, second to Lahore only, at F-9 Park Islamabad.
The vaccination facility was inaugurated jointly by Dr. Amir Khawaja, Secretary Health Department, Government of Pakistan, and Mr. Zafar Masud, President & CEO of The Bank of Punjab, on Saturday, June 19, 2021, and is in line with the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy of the Bank, which focuses on taking initiatives for the benefit and wellbeing of our society.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Zafar Masud, President/CEO said, “it is our moral, social and business responsibility to lend a hand to provincial and national Governments to supplement their efforts to get the whole nation vaccinated against the deadly virus. The Bank of Punjab has already established vaccination centers at its premises in different cities for getting the staff and their families vaccinated. Further, drive-through vaccination facility in Lahore has been a great success and has gathered praise from general public regarding its usefulness and would like to replicate these experiences in other parts of the Country; today’s effort is in that direction only. The Bank of Punjab will continue to play it’s due role.
While speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Amir Khawaja (Secretary Health Government of Pakistan) said, “COVID-19 is a deadly virus but we can control it just as we controlled it by following the SOPs during the first and second waves. We can save precious lives including those of our near and dear ones by taking preventive measures. Wear a mask, maintain social distancing , wash hands with soap frequently and avoid crowded places”. The vaccination facility will be open for all citizens from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. from Monday to Saturday (Sunday will be closed). The ceremony was attended by officials of the federal government, health officials of the federal capital, senior officials of The Bank of Punjab, as well as members of the print and electronic media
