ISLAMABAD ( Web News )

Khalid Tawab, President, and the Secretary General, Pakistan Iron & Steel Merchants Association belonging to UBG (United Business Group) second time absconded from the hearing of Directorate General of Trade Organizations (DGTO) under Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.

The DGTO had issued a notice on 22nd June, 2021 for personal hearing in respect of complaint filed by Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo, President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) belonging to BMP (Business Men Panel) against Khalid Tawab, Pakistan iron & steel merchants association.

Both parties were directed to appear before the Regulator, Trade Organizations along with relevant record on the date fixed for the matter for personal hearing on 30-06-2021 in his office located at State Life Building No. 7, Jinnah Avenue Blue Area Islamabad.

Respondents Khalid Tawab and the Secretary General, Pakistan Iron & Steel Merchants Association did not appear on above hearing. The Regulator fixed Thursday 8th July as next date for hearing but both of them absconded from facing the charges leveled against them by petitioner Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo. Instead, their lawyer asked for more time and the hearing was postponed for unlimited period.

on behalf of Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo appeared along with his lawyer and talking to media stated that we have presented all facts and proofs before the Regulator. We have challenged that Khalid Tawab does not qualify even to be a member of his trade association then how he could be nominated for the candidature of President FPCCI or Executive member? This is the reason why they were failed to appear before DGTO during last tMirza Abdul Rehman, spokesman hearings, he said.

Mirza advised the opponents to bring evidences if any; before the businessmen community at any forum of their choice. However, if they are guilty, it is better to accept the faults and apologize except lingering on the issue, he added.
