Business community reposes confidence in Government’s “Ease of doing business” policies.
Agrees with Government to formulate plan for increasing tax revenues

Presidents of country’s major Chambers of Commerce call on Prime Minister Imran Khan today in Islamabad.  This meeting was part of Government’s, particularly Ministry of Commerce, initiative to exchange views and policy awareness between business community and the Government
The meeting was attended by President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Presidents and Vice Presidents of Karachi, Lahore, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Quetta, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Gujarat,Multan, Sargodha, Gwadar, Islamabad and Rawalpindi chambers.
Federal Ministers Hammad Azhar, Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Advisor on Commerce Abdul Razaq Dawood, SAPM Dr. Sheba’s Gill, Governor State Bank Dr. Raza Baqir and senior officials were present. Finance Minister Shaukat Fayaz Tareen joined via video link.
Businessmen congratulated the Prime Minister and his team for successful implementation of economic policies that despite COVID-19 challenges achieved 4% GDP, 15% growth in Large Scale Manufacturing, facilities for exporters and removal of hinderances, State Bank’s Machinery loans for SMEs. They also thanked the PM for inviting Pakistani businessmen to Uzbekistan during PM’s recent visit.  They also congratulated PM on achieving significant increase in Revenues, exports and remittances from overseas.
The business representatives lauded government’s initiative of direct interaction with business community for resolution of problems and deliberated upon issues that were previously faced when there was no direct communication.
Representatives of business community expressed their intent to help government in tax reforms and paying taxes.
The Prime Minister while stressing upon the importance of industrial growth for a strong economy, stated that government is providing facilities to industries for enhancing exports that will result in reducing trade deficit and increase employment opportunities.
The PM stated that reforms are underway for improving tax system and consultation with all stakeholders will bring further improvement and fast track the process.
The PM directed Federal Ministers to maintain regular contact with all stakeholders for soliciting proposals and resolution of issues.
The PM further added that the government has undertaken tourism development, a  comprehensive agricultural development plan and facilities to industries.  He stated that presently the government is focused on resolving issues faced by business community in a consultative manner.
