RAWALPINDI ( Web News )

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) urged the government for incentive packages to promote small and medium enterprises (SMEs). He said the Government should introduce lucrative packages and an amnesty scheme for the development of this key sector.

These views were expressed by RCCI President Nadeem Rauf while different trade delegations called on him at Chamber house here on Monday. Trade unions are an asset to the Chamber. The Chamber is an important platform for resolving issues related to the business community, he added. I will be visiting the markets soon with my team.

He said that the duty on imports of raw materials for the paint and coating industry be reduced to increase local production and make consumer goods cheaper. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone and we request the government to lower the prices of electricity, gas and oil for the development of SMEs so as to reduce the cost of production.

RCCI President Nadeem Rauf said that at present the demand is high in Central Asian and African countries and concrete steps will have to be taken to deliver Pakistani products to these countries. Since most of the industry in Pakistan consists of processing, there is a need to reduce the rate of duty and tax on the import of raw materials.

Zahid Bakhtwari, President Markazi Anjuman E Tajran Cantt. Sadar registered, who was leading the delegation, said that traders suffered the most during pandemic and lauded RCCI role in addressing key issues. Pattern in Chief Zahid Larif Khan was also present on the occasion.

Earlier, while talking to a delegation of Paint Manufacturing Association led by Muhammad Badar Haroon, RCCI President Nadeem Rauf welcomed the issues and suggestions faced by the Paint industry and assured all possible cooperation from the Chamber’s platform. On this occasion, a tribute was paid to Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. Fateha was also offered for the departed soul.

Senior Vice President Asim Malik, Vice President Talat Awan, executive committee members, and a large number of traders were also present on the occasion.
