Federal Cabinet has approved deployment of Rangers to maintain Law and order situation during the TLP protest.
Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired the meeting of the federal cabinet on Wednesday. According to a statement issued by Press Information Department (PID) after the meeting of the cabinet, it has been stated that the Cabinet was briefed on introduction of electronic voting machines and voting rights for overseas Pakistanis.
Cabinet stressed on the importance of experimental use of electronic voting machines in bye-polls. The Finance Advisor Shaukat Fayyaz Ahmed Tarin presented a comparative review of the prices of essential commodities to the Federal Cabinet.
Ministry of National Food Security briefed the Cabinet on steps to modernized the agriculture sector and end monopolies in it. These measures include introduction of new types of tractors, farm machinery, farming equipment, high yielding seeds, research and development, use of ground positioning systems. Measures are being taken to provide support price and subsidy to small farmers to end the monopoly of large farmers and large farm machinery manufacturing companies.
Ministry of Aviation briefed the Cabinet on implementation of National Aviation Policy. The Cabinet was informed that the process of obtaining NOC for aviation has been simplified. Consultations are underway to determine the extent of high-rise buildings near airports. Cabinet directs early completion of consultation process with builders.
Cabinet approved the appointment of members in the Board of Export Development Fund for a period of one year. After approval, the Board will now consist of the following members:. •Advisor on Commerce •President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry •President, Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry •President, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry •Chairman, Pakistan Hoisary Association •Chairman, Pakistan Ready Made Garments Association •Chairman, Pakistan Leather Garments Association •Chairman, Pakistan Electronics Association •Khawaja Muhammad Anis, Mahmood Group •Arif Nadeem, Pakistan Agriculture Alliance •Waheed Ahmed, Pattern in Chief, All Pakistan Fruits and Vegetable Table Merchants Association.
To make the competition (CSS) exam more effective, the Cabinet approved the screening test from the aspirants before the written examination. However, for the convenience of candidates from less developed areas, the passing number limit in the screening test has been kept at 33%.

Energy Division briefed cabinet on vacancies of CEOs and managing directors in government companies under the supervision of Ministry of Energy. The Cabinet was informed that at present the posts in the institutions run by the Ministry are vacant on various reasons, out of which 4 such posts are being abolished.
