Chairman FPCCI Capital Office Qurban Ali called on Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid. In Gilgit-Baltistan, foreign investors are interested in various sectors including mining, James Stone, hydropower, agriculture, hotels, tourism, construction, infrastructure. Discussed various issues including solutions to the problems faced by traders. Agreed to work together for construction and development of Gilgit-Baltistan, enhancement of industrial and commercial activities, reduction in unemployment. Chirf Minister GB Khalid Khurshid assured the Chairman FPCCI Capital Office of Gilgit-Baltistan to provide special relief to the business community of GB, provide protection to foreign investors including speedy resolution of issues, and provide the best government facilities. Talking during a meeting at Gilgit-Baltistan House Islamabad, Chairman FPCCI Capital Office Qurban Ali said that a large number of domestic and foreign investors are investing from in Gilgit-Baltistan which is a tax free zone. The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) is working hard for industrial and commercial development in all four provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan, and for this platfrom has always been tring to resolve business & Industrial issues on priority baises. Qurban Ali also apprised Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid of the problems of the business community and investors of Gilgit-Baltistan. he further said that due to pandemic corona, thousands of people of Gilgit-Baltistan become unemployed. The two-year closure of the China border has caused serious business problems to the business community. He demanded the Chief Minister to contact the Chinese government and fully open the China border and dry port for transportation round the year. which will enable the business community of both countries to keep continue the business, this will help to reduce employment. He said that domestic and foreign investors have started working on warious projects in an joint venture basis. Qurban Ali said that soon Gilgit-Baltistan will become the economic hub of Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid lauded the Chairman FPCCI Capital Office Qurban Ali and the FPCCI for its excellent services to the business community, investment request, promotion of industrial and commercial activities. He said that he would talk to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the round the year opening of Pak-China Bard, dry port and the Chinese government will also be contacted in this regard. He further said. Gilgit-Baltistan is a tax-free region and GB Government will provide all kinds of facilities to investors. He said that there are vast investment opportunities in various sectors including Mining, James Stone, Hydropower, Agriculture, Hotels, Tourism, Construction, Infrastructure which should be taken full advantage of. The Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan appreciated the Chairman FPCCI Capital Office Qurban Ali in recognition of his services to the business community in promoting investment in Gilgit-Baltistan and assured full cooperation from him and the government.
