The academia is not only provide the best manpower for innovation in the industry and global competition but also provide innovative ideas, this was stated by Mirza Abdul Rehman, Chief Coordinator of FPCCI in an interactive session with the students of Business Incubation Centre of Abdul Wali Khan University of Mardan. A student delegation visited FPCCI Capital Office, Islamabad.
The main focus of the visit was to enhance awareness on entrepreneurial idea generation, screening and its careful selection. The students were briefed on the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and ways to handle challenges. The faculty members of the University had a meeting with Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce representatives to discuss the future avenues of collaboration to strengthen the linkages between academia and industry, student placement, internships opportunities, and joint seminars.
A brief presentation about the role of trade bodies and the FPCCI in the economy was given in open deliberations by the students. They said that that such presentation will be very helpful to them to coordinate with member bodies all over Pakistan.
Mirza Abdul Rehman briefed the students about Pakistan’s Industry and trade, economic development and shared his inspiring story with the students of how he started off with nothing and progressed to being of the biggest entrepreneurs. He also encouraged students to come up with their own business plans and he would help them set up their work in all means possible.
Mirza Abdul Rehman assured that FPCCI and Industries will assist the students of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan in every possible way to make them better Entrepreneurs and Businessmen. He further assured for sharing business expertise and start up ideas from different industries. He said that the academy not only provide the best manpower for innovation in the industry and global competition but also provide innovative ideas.
Mirza Abdul ur Rehman was of the opinion that the Business incubation centers of different Universities and chambers are the premier contributor of policy advocacy, trade investment, productivity and sustainable economic development in the knowledge-based economy therefore, FPCCI and Mardan University should mutually develop a strategy to seek research-based business solution in different sectors. He said that full utilization of natural resources and promoting education is essential for the development and prosperity of Pakistan. He added that Pakistan is rich in natural resources, and the people, especially the educated youth, can benefit from CPEC projects. Addressing the students, Chief Coordinator FPCCI remarked that they can become a valuable asset for their Province and the entire country with their treasure of education.
He said that Pakistan has vast investment opportunities, and efforts should also be made for enhancing trade and investment. We have to work hard, diligently, and honestly for the development and prosperity of our country, Mirza Abdul Rehman remarked that it was the shared responsibility of all of us to convince the world that the people of Pakistan were progressive and would work hard to find new avenues for development.
Later, the students of AWKU had their group photos taken with the honorable guests. The trip was a great experience for the students as they not only learned about FPCCI, Industry & Trade but also got inspiration from the experienced entrepreneurship and their stories.
