IHC Orders To Seal Navy Golf Club And Monal Restaurant On Margalla Hills In Islamabad
Within a week, this is second Navy’s commercial venture in Islamabad which is being sealed on the order of Islamabad High Court. Last week, the IHC ordered the demolition of Navy Sailing Club on the bank of Rawal Lake in Islamabad.

The Islamabad High Court has directed the Capital Development Authority to seal Navy Golf Course and Monal Restaurant immediately.
Within a week, this is second Navy’s commercial venture in Islamabad which is being sealed on the order of Islamabad High Court. Last week, the IHC ordered the demolition of Navy Sailing Club on the bank of Rawal Lake in Islamabad.
Hearing a case relating to encroachments in the Islamabad Margalla Hills Park on Tuesday (Jan 11), Chief Justice Athar Minallah lambasted the authorities.
“Do you know what you’re doing with the upcoming generations? All this is very shocking,” the judge said. “Everywhere we see in Islamabad, there’s lawlessness.”
CJ IHC Athar Minallah remarked that commercial activities on the land of the Islamabad Hills National Park can’t be allowed at any cost. “Under what law are you using this land?”
The attorney-general said that the transfer of the land has not taken place which infuriated the chief justice who said “no one is allowed to even cut grass from the park.”
During the proceeding, the director-general of the Environmental Protection Authority revealed that the Monal restaurant was sealed twice in the past but the restaurant unsealed twice. “We don’t know who did it,” he said.
Justice Minallah said that this time that won’t happen and handed over the responsibility of sealing the restaurant to the Chief Commissioner Islamabad Capital Territory.
“It is your responsibility to implement the IHC order,” the judge said. The commissioner assured the court that he will seal the restaurant himself today (Tuesday, January 11).
