CFRD donates RMB 740,000 for flood relief assistance to FPCCI

Mr. Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Amin Ullah Baig, Vice President FPCCI & Incharge Capital Office, Mirza Abdul Rehman, Chairman Coordination FPCCI, Mr. Qurban Ali, Former Vice President FPCCI thanked the China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD for providing RMB 740,000 US$ 106.628 for flood relief assistance to FPCCI for relief activities in Gilgit Baltistan. In a ceremony held at FPCCI Capital Office, Islamabad President FPCCI appreciated the role of China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD), which is a public foundation and working to eliminate human poverty and alleviate social suffering. The CFRD humanitarian relief program for poverty reduction in 24 countries and regions, with a total investment of over 200 million yuan benefiting about 900,000 beneficiaries. The CFRD have long-term Programs in Pakistan.
The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry has formed a Flood Relief Committee to take part in the rehabilitation of flood affected in different parts of the country. In this connection the sub-committee for Federal Areas, consisting on Mr. Amin Ullah Baig, Mirza Abdul Rehman and Mr. Qurban Ali made tremendous efforts and was able to get a US$ 106.628 grant from China Foundation for Rural Development for humanitarian relief for the flood-affected peoples of Gilgit Baltistan.
The President said that FPCCI will ensured successful implementation of food and other relief goods distribution project, with the support CFRD to help effects of the devastating floods. The Chines government and people of China have made a substantive contribution to Pakistan’s relief and rehabilitation efforts he added.
