Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that there are vast opportunities for development and investment in the IT sector in Pakistan, special measures are being taken to promote IT exports. are not consistent with the real potential, IT experts and youth will have to play a full role to achieve the goals, Aptika will be provided with all the facilities to promote exports. Taking steps for promotion, the efforts made in this regard will be supported. He said that 60% of Pakistan’s population consists of youth and this is a challenge and an opportunity for us, we have to take advantage of this opportunity, youth should use their skills in IT sector. That when he was the Chief Minister of Punjab, he took steps for the development of IT in various sectors like health, education and revenue collection, laptops were distributed to talented students, besides this, students and teachers in Punjab were given support for the promotion of IT. Booklets were also provided. He said that Pakistan has a lot of potential to develop the IT sector, but our exports are only 2.5 billion dollars per year which does not correspond to our real potential, we can increase the IT exports by billions of dollars. During 8 months, he has taken steps to develop the IT sector and mobilize the youth. Special attention is being paid to the promotion of the IT sector’s exports. If possible, IT professionals and youth should come forward and plan how we can achieve our goals easily. He said that this forum will be a source of strength in our efforts for the development of the IT sector. . He said that Pakistan will play its full role for the promotion of the IT sector and the IT industry and all facilities will be provided to Optika for the promotion of exports. Speaking at the ceremony, Federal Minister for IT Syed Aminul Haq said. He said that the role of IT is important for poverty eradication and sustainable development, Pakistan has taken special measures to promote knowledge-based economy, 60% of our population consists of youth and this is our valuable asset. He said that the IT industry is developing in Pakistan, it is our commitment to connect remote areas to the digital world, the number of mobile phone users and broadband users in the country has increased significantly. He said that currently 3G and 4G will not work, 5G service will be launched in June next year. Pakistan Software Export Board Managing Director Junaid Imam, Optika Chairman Stan Singh and others also addressed the event. Pakistan is hosting the 21st Optica Awards 2022 from December 7 to 11.
