Former governor of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik has said that Kashmir dispute was not only created by Kashmiris but 50% of the issue was the result of Delhi’s acts.

During an interview with senior Indian journalist Karan Thapar, Satya Pal Malik said that Indian government never conducted free, fair and transparent elections in Jammu and Kashmir and added for once it changed the results of the elections. He alleged that the India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi had no information about Kashmir as he remains focused on his own issues.

“Whenever they talked about Kashmir, he had no such tangible information about Kashmir,” he added. He said that Kashmir dispute was not only created by Kashmiris but fifty percent of the issue was the result of Delhi’s acts which he had stated through an interview with Indian Express. He said that the PM Modi was not cognizant of any issue of Jammu and Kashmir, adding he even doesn’t know how Hurriyet was being operated.

Satya Pal Malik further revealed that they have never conducted free, fair and transparent election in the valley and added during an election they had cancelled all the papers. The conspiracies which we hatch does not allow people to believe in India, he said and added two to three times he had told the Prime Minister that this dispute could be resolved but he had no interest in this regard at all. He said about Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister took a big decision due to his ignorance.

Satya Pal Malik painted a damning picture of the PM and his closest advisors. He was the last governor of IIOJK before it was divided and reduced to Union territory status, said “Mein safely keh sakta hoon Prime Minister ko corruption se bahut nafrat nahin hain” (‘I can safely say the PM has no real problem with corruption’).

Malik who was governor during the Pulwama terrorist attack of February 2019 and the scrapping of Article 370 in August that year, said the prime minister was ill-informed and ignorant about Kashmir and told him not to speak about the Union home ministry’s lapses which led to the devastating terrorist attack on soldiers in Pulwama in February 2019.
