Says textile sector is backbone of national economy, pledges all-out govt support to boost this sector

Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan’s textile industry was flourishing despite the presence of challenges and issues. He said that textile sector is backbone of the national economy and his government will extend full support to boost export and national economy.
PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of 4th international textile and Leather exhibition at EXPO center in Karachi on Friday.
He lauded the industrialists who despite the challenges and difficulties in the way have contributed immensely in promoting Pakistan’s textile and leather industry. He added that sixty percent of the total export of the country comes from the textile sector and all-out support will be provided to boost this sector.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan is committed to follow and implement all the requirements of international organizations like the International Labour Organization. He also lauded the efforts of commerce Minister Syed Naveed Qamar and his team for arranging the Expo in which over four hundred foreign delegates from sixty countries including buyers are participating.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the industrialists and exporters for their relentless efforts to promote the export of Made-in-Pakistan products. Despite facing numerous challenges, the prime minister noted the significant progress made by the textile sector, attributing its improvement to the dedication and perseverance of entrepreneurs. He also acknowledged the confidence of investors in Pakistan’s textile industry.
Highlighting the contributions of key figures in the textile industry’s progress, including the Commerce Minister, Secretary of Commerce, their team, and Chairman of Pakistan Trade Development Authority Zubair Motiwala, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised their outstanding performance.
Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized importance of innovation in old textile technology and meeting global brands’ demands for knitwear and garments.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah were also present on the occasion.
