Irfan Iqbal Sheikh President of FPCCI has said that the immediate solution to Pakistan’s economic improvement and increase in foreign exchange reserves is the promotion of tourism. It is an open secret that many countries of the world are now paying special attention towards the improvement of facilities to attract local and international tourists. He said that better results can be achieved by providing facilities in the tourism sector and the world can be turned towards Pakistan which will pave the way for future foreign investment in Pakistan. Tourism will show the beautiful face of Pakistan to the international community and will invite them to see the land of treasures and enjoy traditional hospitality. President FPCCI stressed that the tourism sector is the only quick way to earn foreign exchange. He expressed these views while addressing the Blue Economy Conference organized by the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the FPCCI Capital Office. He further stated that Pakistan has been blessed with natural beauty by Allah, along with a long and amazing coastal line, there are also such places beautiful places in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Azad Kashmir which are waiting for government attention. He said that the tourism sector will stimulate economic development by generating income, employment, investment and exports, when tourists come to the country, not only local people will get business opportunities but it will also create employment opportunities. The Federal and Provincial governments have to pay special attention to some areas such as direct tourism flights. better infrastructure, telecommunication, sewage, water supply, security, and transportation improved will do the magic. President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that FPCCI has developed a 15-year economic plan to improve the economic situation of the country and in this regard, various political parties are also being taken into confidence so that long-term policies can unanimously be adopted. Addressing the event, FPCCI Vice President and Chairman Capital Office Aminullah Baig, Vice President FPCCI Engineer MA Jabbar, Chairman Coordination Capital Office Mirza Abdul Rahman, Convener Syed Asad Haider Mashhadi, FPCCI IK Standing Committee for Blue Economy Dr. Nizhat Khan, Chairperson of Pakistan Women Business Council Hina Mansab Khan and others said that many countries of the world are working on the promotion of tourism and Pakistan also has immense potential in the tourism sector and suggested that governments should be focused on development in this sector. The world depends on 26% coastal tourism while we are getting only 0.1%. Pakistan is running into debt so why are we not paying attention to tourism this is the only sector which is a major source of immediate.
