Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar will take oath as caretaker prime minister of the country on 14th August. President Dr. Arif Alvi will administer oath to him during the ceremony going to be held at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile in a statement issued on twitter, nominated caretaker prime minister Anwaarul Haq Kakbar said that he is thankful to Almighty Allah for giving him opportunity to serve the nation as caretaker prime minister. Anwaarul Haq Kakar said that with the blessings of Almighty Allah he will do every best deed which will be in favor of Pakistan.
Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar will perform duties as 8th caretaker prime minister of the country.
The nominated Caretaker Prime Minister, Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar hails from Qilla Saifullah, Balochistan. Anwaarul Haq Kakar born in 1971 in Muslim Bagh area of Balochistan.
He was elected to the Senate in 2018 and has been a very active politician.
He has worked as chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, and as a member of the Business Advisory Committee, Finance and Revenue, Foreign Affairs and Science and Technology.
He also served as the spokesperson of the provincial government prior to his election to the upper house in 2018.
Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar is widely regarded as a great intellectual in the country. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science, Sociology and is an alumnus of the University of Balochistan.
The President approved the appointment under Article 224 (1) A of the Constitution. The summary regarding the appointment of Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar as Caretaker PM was sent to the president by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Opposition Leader Raja Riaz Ahmed Khan.
Earlier, Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar was nominated as the Caretaker Prime Minister after consensus reached between Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Opposition Leader Raja Riaz Ahmed Khan during talks in Islamabad on Saturday.
According to the Prime Minister Office, the Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader jointly signed the advice and sent it to President Dr. Arif Alvi.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Opposition Leader over his cooperation in the consultation process for nomination of the caretaker Prime Minister.
Later, talking to the media persons, Opposition Leader Raja Riaz said the name of Anwaarul Haq Kakar was proposed by him and the Prime Minister agreed to it.
He said the main purpose was that the caretaker Prime Minister should be from a smaller province and a non-controversial personality. He said the aim was also to remove the sense of deprivation of small provinces.
Responding to question, Raja Riaz said that the caretaker Prime Minister is expected to take oath of office by today (Sunday).
When asked about the caretaker cabinet, he said no discussion was held today on it as the prerogative rests with the caretaker Prime Minister to finalize the names of the caretaker cabinet. Raja Riaz said that three names were presented by him and three names were presented by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the post of caretaker prime minister. Raja Riaz said that they decided not to disclose other five names present for the position of caretaker PM.

PM Shehbaz and Riaz have sent an advice regarding Kakar’s appointment as the caretaker prime minister to President Alvi, the statement added.
The premier thanked the opposition leader for his cooperation in the consultation process for the nomination of the caretaker PM.
Earlier, the opposition leader confirmed the same development while talking to the media outside Prime Minister’s House.
The decision comes after the second round of consultations between PM Shehbaz Sharif and Raja Riaz. “We decided that the interim prime minister would be from a smaller province,” said Raja, adding that consensus has been reached that Anwarul Haq Kakar will be the caretaker PM.
A day after the premature dissolution of the National Assembly, PM Shehbaz and opposition leader Raja Riaz began meetings to select a candidate for the caretaker premier after the National Assembly (NA) stood dissolved on August 9.
Earlier, President Dr Arif Alvi asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Raja Riaz to propose a name for appointment of caretaker PM by tomorrow (August 12).
In the letter, President Alvi said under Article 224A of Constitution, PM Shehbaz and Raja Riaz were required to propose name of a person for appointment of caretaker prime minister within three days of dissolution of National Assembly.
Senator Anwar ul Haq Kakar, the nominated new caretaker prime minister of Pakistan, is a political figure from Balochistan and member of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).
Kakar was elected to the Senate in 2018 and has been a very active politician from Balochistan.
Simultaneously, he served as parliamentary leader for the Balochistan Awami Party — formed in 2018 — within the Senate.
Anwarul Haq Kakar also worked as chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, and as a member of the Business Advisory Committee, Finance and Revenue, Foreign Affairs and Science and Technology.
