The Sindh High Court, while hearing the petition against the shutdown of the Internet and social media, asked the federal government for reasons for shutting down the Internet on election day. Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi said that people were not allowed to fight the election, people wanted to campaign through the internet, then do not hold the election. PTA’s counsel replied that we have implemented the instructions we received. Justice Mubeen Lakho said that the threats that led to the shutdown of the internet should be mentioned. The PTA lawyer replied that we are not informed of the threats. The lawyer of the federal government said that the internet was closed on the recommendation of the provincial governments.
