The Supreme Court has upheld the decision to pay pension to 11,500 pensioners of the National Bank. The National Bank filed a review petition in the Supreme Court against the decision to pay the pension. A 3-member bench headed by Mansoor Ali Shah held a hearing. The Supreme Court rejected the review petition of the National Bank and declared in its decision that the National Bank has paid 60 billion rupees a month to 11,500 retired employees as pension. The Supreme Court dismissed the review petition after 6 years and upheld the decision to grant pension to the employees. The employees expressed their happiness over the decision and said that 13 years ago in 1999, the National Bank reduced the rate of our pension and It was reduced from 70% to 33% against which we went to the High Court and the decision came in our favor, however the bank appealed against the decision and years later today the decision has come in our favor even against this appeal.
