Muslim rulers to unite against the atrocities of global terrorists, the U.S. and Israel. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman
Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, has urged Muslim rulers to unite against the atrocities of global terrorists, the U.S. and Israel. He warned that if action isn’t taken, even their wealth and armies may not be of any use. Speaking at a press conference in Karachi’s Idara Noor-e-Haq, he called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take a firm stand at the UN instead of promoting the two-state solution, which he believes appeases oppressive forces. Hafiz Naeem highlighted that Quaid-e-Azam had called Israel an illegitimate child of the U.S. and urged rulers not to act as agents but to raise their voices against Israeli atrocities.
He also called on Muslim rulers to learn from the speech of the Irish Prime Minister, emphasizing that whoever takes the lead in speaking out against injustice will be the one to defend their people and land. Jamaat-e-Islami will observe a week of solidarity for Palestine from October 1 to 7, organizing major Million Marches in Karachi and Islamabad. He appealed for workers from all political and religious parties to take to the streets on October 7 at noon.
Hafiz Naeem also criticized the government’s failure to implement the Rawalpindi Agreement within the specified timeframe, calling the announced measures inadequate. He demanded the cancellation of IPP agreements, imposition of taxes on feudal lords, tax relief for salaried workers and traders, and a gradual reduction in interest rates. He argued that the savings from these measures should be used to reduce electricity bills and bring petroleum prices in line with global markets, claiming the government has already benefited by $25 billion from the decrease in global prices.
Hafiz Naeem further stated that Jamaat-e-Islami has launched a nationwide peaceful resistance movement under the slogan “Haq Do Awam Ko” (Give the People Their Rights), with long-term goals including democratic freedoms, access to education, healthcare, justice, electoral and land reforms, women’s inheritance rights, and employment for youth. A nationwide membership campaign has also been initiated, gaining significant public support.
He announced that the party’s referendum will continue for five days, with ballot boxes placed in public spaces across provinces, and that a wheel-jam strike and a long march towards Islamabad are also being considered for October. The long march, which may start with local marches from across the country, will culminate in a large convoy heading to Islamabad.
