ISLAMABAD   (   WEB  NEWS  )

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has extended an invitation to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership to join the Gaza Million March, during a meeting with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. The JI delegation, led by Rehman, had earlier visited the PPP Office in Islamabad.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of all political parties adopting a unified and strong stance on the Palestine issue. Rehman urged that all government and opposition parties should actively participate in the Gaza Million March, scheduled for Monday, October 7, in Islamabad.

He called on Bilawal Bhutto to request Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to officially declare October 7 as Palestine Solidarity Day, stating that the JI would fully support the government in such a move. Rehman clarified that this was not a matter of political credit but of solidarity with Palestine.

He noted that a year had passed since Israeli atrocities in Gaza, with Israeli forces now also entering Lebanon. He condemned the killing of Hasan Nasrallah, which took place while the UN was in session, highlighting the international body’s inability to curb Israeli aggression. In light of the situation, Rehman stressed the responsibility of Muslim world leaders to take concrete steps in support of the Palestinian people, urging Pakistan’s leadership to act decisively for the Palestinian cause.

Rehman also acknowledged the historical support of the PPP and its founder, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, for the causes of Palestine and Kashmir. He called on political parties to set aside their differences and unite in raising a strong voice for Palestine.

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari welcomed the JI delegation and appreciated their efforts in support of Palestine. He reiterated that while the PPP and JI have ideological and political differences, their positions on Palestine and Kashmir are aligned.

The visiting JI delegation included Vice-Emirs Liaqat Baloch and Mian Aslam, Secretary-General Amirul Azeem, JI Media Director Salman Sheikh, and JI Islamabad Chapter Emir Nasrullah Randhawa.

Following the meeting with the PPP, the JI delegation also met with Awami Pakistan Party head and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, and reached out via phone to the leader of the opposition alliance, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, inviting both to join the Gaza Million March.

Rehman concluded by noting that the JI is observing this week in solidarity with the people of Palestine and Lebanon. The party is organizing a rally in Faisalabad on Friday, followed by Gaza Million Marches in Karachi on October 6 and in Islamabad on October 7. He urged the people of Pakistan to participate fully, demonstrating their support for Palestine and Lebanon.
