Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, has stated that his party will challenge the 26th constitutional amendment in court. He emphasized that consultations with lawyers are in the final stages. The government is attempting to seize control of the judiciary through this amendment, and he is confident that this control will end sooner or later. He described the 27th amendment as a diversion tactic to distract the public.

He criticized the government’s claims of economic improvement, asserting that the entire government is built on lies. Despite a decrease in global petroleum prices, local prices have risen, leading to increased inflation burdening the populace. He called for a minimum reduction of 100 rupees per liter in fuel prices and stated that without reducing electricity tariffs and fuel costs, the economy cannot recover. He deemed the 60 rupee per liter levy as oppressive.

Protests will continue until the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) agreements are terminated, and the party will resist the sale of national institutions and assets at throwaway prices. The membership campaign will continue until November 30, after which the next phase of the “Haq Do Awam” movement will begin.

In a discussion at the meeting in Mansoorah, he highlighted the lack of quality education in the country for the past 77 years, stating that nearly 2 crore children are out of school and only 1.9 million youth are enrolled in universities, representing less than 1% of their age group. He criticized the Punjab government’s plan to privatize 14,000 schools and pointed out that despite a total educational budget of 2000 billion rupees across provinces, they are failing to provide education to the public.

He accused the Punjab Chief Minister of deceiving farmers and highlighted the need for essential resources like water, fertilizers, and seeds rather than token gestures like farmer cards. He called for significant reductions in agricultural electricity tariffs, removal of heavy taxes on agricultural technology, and the establishment of fixed purchase rates for farmers’ produce.

He strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Mastung and expressed condolences for the victims, stating that the increase in terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan is alarming. He criticized the rulers for focusing on constitutional amendments to protect their interests instead of addressing public safety and issues, leaving citizens at the mercy of circumstances.

Hafiz Naeem urged the youth not to abandon the country out of frustration, advocating for organized struggle instead. He emphasized the need for a powerful peaceful resistance movement against the elite class that monopolizes resources. He denounced the current political parties for their corruption and highlighted Jamaat-e-Islami’s capability to combat this issue.

He concluded by reiterating that Pakistan was founded on ideological grounds and can only progress on that basis. He warned that straying from this principle will lead to ethnic tensions and emphasized that an Islamic system, founded on public opinion and justice, is the solution to the nation’s problems. He criticized the establishment and elite for considering themselves the state, asserting that an Islamic system will be based on public will and justice.
