Youth is the Real Asset of the Nation, There Is No Need to Lose Hope – Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman

The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Engineer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, stated that the youth are the real asset of the nation, and there is no need to lose hope. The people who are sitting like snakes on the nation’s treasures should be ousted through struggle. Unfortunately, the ruling class has no interest in the welfare of the public, as a two percent elite is devouring the resources of the country. The nation’s resources should be spent on the public, and if the government system is rectified, the private sector can also connect with our 1,400-year-old history. These people first destroy the institutions and then auction them off for privatization. The Punjab government has decided to hand over 13,000 schools to NGOs. NGOs will run these schools according to their own agendas, meaning the government is transferring its responsibility to others, which is dangerous for the country and nation. The youth should resist this as well and must work to save their education and future.

These remarks were made by Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman while addressing the 9th Al-Khidmat Youth Gathering, a mega event organized by Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan. The event was also addressed by President of Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, Professor Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman, General Secretary of Al-Khidmat Foundation Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri, Chairman of the Volunteer Program and Central Vice President Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmad Mangat, Zikarullah Mujahid, Syed Ihsanullah Waqas, General Secretary of the Women’s Wing Dr. Humaira Tariq, former Member of National Assembly Dr. Sameeha Raheel Qazi, Head of the Training Department at University of Lahore Dr. Ayesha Madni, Dean of University of Lahore Professor Dr. Mumtaz Akhtar, Chairperson of Million Smiles Association Mohammad, Vice Chancellor of the University of Home Economics Professor Syeda Faliha Kazmi, and Chairman of Film and Broadcasting at Punjab University Dr. Lubna Zaheer. The Secretary of Information of Jamaat-e-Islami, Qaiser Sharif, was also present at the event.

The theme of the 9th Al-Khidmat Youth Gathering was “Create Your Own World.” The event aimed to educate young people about the importance of volunteerism and to show them how, as youth, they can serve suffering and helpless humanity. At the event, heroes who have brought fame to Pakistan around the world were honored with the Nematullah Khan Lifetime Achievement Award and other honorary shields.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman praised the services of Al-Khidmat Foundation, saying that even the smallest role in charitable work is worthy of great reward from Allah. Those who dedicate their time, wealth, and skills to this work are praiseworthy. He further emphasized that every Pakistani should have equal opportunities for education. Unfortunately, 26.2 million children are deprived of education, which could make them a valuable asset for the country and the nation once they receive education. Education should not be turned into a business, and every young person should receive education through a unified curriculum and institutions.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman criticized the government for seeking relations with the neighboring country but failing to adopt the correct measures. In the IT sector, the neighboring country is far ahead of Pakistan, but we face issues like internet shutdowns and other faulty government policies, which have caused the sector to decline. He mentioned that they do not only speak about the wrong government actions but are also lighting the lamp of progress for the youth through continuous efforts. He highlighted the Ban-e-Qabil program, which aims to make 1 million young Pakistanis capable in various fields, including IT, through courses. The goal is to enable these young people to not only find jobs but also create jobs for hundreds of others.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza, stating that they are fulfilling the duty of the Muslim Ummah. He said that the suffering of the Palestinians is beyond our comprehension, and helping them and raising our voices for them is our obligation.
