He emphasized that this was a demand that could have been fulfilled immediately, but it was not acted upon. He concluded that the negotiations were not serious attempted ; the aim was only to postpone the protest. He added that the Charter of Demands includes the release of all arrested individuals. Imran Khan also mentioned that the High Court had granted his bail, presenting a golden opportunity for the government to release him, but it was clear that the government had no intention of doing so. He suggested that the government’s strategy was to keep him occupied and drag the matter on.
Imran Khan further said that it was now clear who held the actual power and that everything was being done to demonstrate that those in power are above the law. He predicted that once the 26th Amendment to the Constitution is fully implemented, there would be no relief. He stressed that the only option left for the people is to protest, as there is no other recourse. He claimed that the protest on November 24 will be the largest-ever, with overseas Pakistanis participating, as they live in free countries. He stated that the government’s intentions were now clear, but both protests and negotiations would continue.
Khan pointed out that while he is in jail, multiple cases are being filed against him, calling it a “banana republic.” He called on lawyers, judges, workers, and civil society to join the protest on November 24. He affirmed that the protest would be 100% successful, and it was now evident that the government would not release him before November 24. He stated that if the government was serious about negotiations, it should release the detainees. He also mentioned that despite having bail in all major cases, he had not been released yet, with over 60 cases filed against him while in jail.
