Demand resignation of Mohsin Naqvi, on D Chock incident. Hafiz Naeem

LAHORE   (  WEB  NEWS  )

Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has called for the immediate resignation of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who is allegedly involved in firing on political workers. He demanded an empowered and trustworthy judicial commission to investigate the incident that occurred on the night of November 26. He criticized the government for not only firing on the public but also imposing restrictions on the media. He urged the immediate release of journalists Murtaza Ali Khan and Shakir Mahmood Awan, who are facing false charges. He emphasized that the current restrictions on freedom of expression are even worse than those during the martial law periods. He condemned the brutal actions at D-Chowk, where the government sent a message that no one should dare protest against the fake government formed through fake Form 47. He described such actions as unacceptable and strongly condemned the oppression.

He further stated that if the nation is politically deprived, it would not be acceptable, as the public are the rightful heirs of this country, and the constitution allows peaceful protests. He also condemned the resolution in the Balochistan Assembly to impose a ban on PTI. He noted that the tragic incident at D-Chowk should serve as a lesson for political party leaders. It is unacceptable for leaders to abandon their workers in such situations, and political parties should not be treated as family enterprises or owned by billionaires and landlords but should operate democratically. He asked those who claim improvements in the stock market to clarify what relief the public has received. On November 29, which marks International Day of Solidarity with Palestine, he called on global powers to enforce a ceasefire and urged Islamic countries to take practical steps to help the people of Gaza.

During a press conference at Mansurah, he was joined by Secretary General Amir ul Azeem, Deputy Amir Dr. Osama Rizvi, Secretary of Information Qaiser Sharif, and Amir of Lahore Zia-ul-Din Ansari Advocate. Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that while the army is making sacrifices, the actions of a few individuals are creating distance between the public and the military. He questioned why, whenever anything happens in the country, fingers are pointed at the establishment, urging institutions to think about why this is happening. He criticized the fake assemblies formed through fraudulent Form 47 and the fake Prime Minister and government making crucial decisions for the country.

He also condemned the firing on PTI workers and the subsequent media blackout, calling the Interior Minister’s response to the deaths a shameless act. He stated that five people had been killed in the firing, and questioned where PTI’s militia had fired as they made their way from Peshawar to Islamabad. He claimed that the government’s sole focus is on preventing any protests against it, even if it means sealing off the entire country. The government, he said, is not concerned about the bloodshed in Balochistan, the martyrdom of security forces and civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, or the killings in Kurram despite a ceasefire. He urged the government to heal the wounds of the people and allow independent investigations into the events of November 24 to 26.

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman criticized the government for trying to suppress the people’s thoughts and hide the truth through media restrictions, which only fuels rumors and causes people to form their own opinions. Regarding claims of improvement in the stock market, he said that such claims do not mean the economy has improved, as everyone knows it is a speculative business. He pointed out that the public is not receiving any relief, and national institutions are being sold off at throwaway prices. Inflation and unemployment have crushed the people, and children are not getting quality education as the Punjab government hands over schools to NGOs. The prices of electricity, fuel, and food are not coming down. He added that those who managed to get elected through fake votes, becoming Prime Minister, should realize that they have completely failed. He assured that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue to speak the truth without fear and fight for the rights of the people.
