Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch has said that a judicial commission should be established for a complete investigation and fact-finding of the tragedy of November 27 in Islamabad.
Liaqat Baloch addressed the political organizational and social consultative meeting of South Punjab leaders in Multan. Malik Ahmed Hasan, a well-known farmer, philanthropist and political leader in Multan, donated 13 kanals of land in prime area for Aghosh and Alkhidmat Hospital and handed over the papers to Liaqat Baloch.
Sohaib Amar Siddiqui, Syed Zeeshan Akhtar, Shana Sarani, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Atiq, Hafiz Muhammad Aslam, Mahmood Bashir and other leaders were present on this occasion. Liaqat Baloch while talking to the leaders and journalists said that Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has cleared the confusion by giving a statement regarding the Islamabad tragedy.
A judicial commission should be established for the complete investigation and fact-finding of the November 27 tragedy in Islamabad, he said and added the constitutional bench should conduct an urgent hearing to protect the fundamental rights of the people according to the constitution and establish a fact-finding commission.
Liaqat Baloch said that the Supreme Court Constitutional Bench should free the people from government looting on sale of electricity. National economy cannot be restored with expensive electricity, gas, petrol, he stressed, and added federal and provincial governments should cut non-developmental spending by 25 percent instead of imposing new additional taxes or introducing mini-budgets to meet IMF conditions.
He said in economic crises, it is no longer possible for people to bear more financial burden. Inflation and rampant increase in cost of production are increasing crime and unemployment, he warned. He said on the trade front, the engineered slowdown of the Internet is fueling political instability. Elected local bodies should be restored, he added.
Liaqat Baloch said that the restoration of student unions will give political national training to the young generation. The ruling party is depriving the people and the youth of their basic constitutional rights due to internal chaos and blackmailing, he said.
In response to a question, Liaqat Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami and Milli Yekjehti Council are constantly trying to restore peace in district Karam Parachinar and Sadda. He said that Milli Yekjehti Council’s central meeting has also been convened in Islamabad.
