The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is displeased with the party leadership. Imran Khan has charge-sheeted party leaders and raised questions about the atmosphere outside jail. While speaking to journalists at Adiala Jail, the PTI founder stated that after reading news reports, he got the impression that a friendly atmosphere prevailed outside the jail and everyone seemed to be living happily. He expressed surprise over the leadership’s behavior, saying that he expected the D-Chowk issue to be raised vigorously in Parliament and other forums, but it was shocking to him that this did not happen.
Aleema Khan: On Sunday, Everyone Will Gather in Bagh Naran Peshawar for Martyrs
Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, stated that Imran Khan once again reiterated his two demands: that a judicial inquiry into the D-Chowk incident and the events of May 9 be conducted by the most senior judges, and that innocent party workers be released. Aleema Khan shared these thoughts with the media outside Adiala Jail. She further mentioned that they had informed the PTI founder that the new name for D-Chowk would be “Shuhada Chowk,” which would remain permanent.
She stated that Sunday had been designated as Martyrs’ Day, and prayers would be held worldwide for the martyrs. Aleema Khan mentioned that a lot of evidence, including videos, had surfaced, and these facts could not be hidden. Evidence was coming in from institutions and hospitals, and soon everything would be revealed. She emphasized that if their demands were not met, Imran Khan had told overseas Pakistanis not to send money to Pakistan, as these were the same overseas Pakistanis who were being denied the right to vote and threatened when contacted. These Pakistanis were told that they would be arrested as soon as they landed in Pakistan.
Aleema Khan also stated that the PTI founder had said that they had been cornered and had no choice left. The two main demands were: to conduct a judicial inquiry into the D-Chowk incident and the events of May 9 by the three most senior judges, and to release innocent PTI workers.
