Internet technology company Google has announced the introduction of its digital payment system, Google Wallet, in Pakistan and 16 other countries. Google Wallet is already available in several countries, but its services were not previously available in Pakistan. Now, the company has announced its launch in Pakistan, Egypt, and other countries. According to the company, the services will be launched in Pakistan, Egypt, Venezuela, Tajikistan, Morocco, Panama, Peru, Monaco, Kosovo, and 16 other countries between December 2024 and January 2025. In Pakistan, Google Wallet services will begin next month, meaning Pakistanis will receive the digital payment system as a New Year’s gift.
Google Wallet is a digital payment and document storage system that allows users to link their credit and debit cards to their accounts to make and receive payments. The system and application are considered highly secure. The company claims that the information stored in Google Wallet is encrypted, making it inaccessible to anyone else. Google Wallet essentially serves as a digital wallet or purse, where users can also store various cards and documents. According to the company, payments made through Google Wallet are encrypted, and each transaction is processed by sending a unique code, allowing the wallet to be used securely.
In Google Wallet, users can store bank cards, boarding passes, tickets, and other digital passes, just like a physical wallet. To ensure data protection, the app uses encryption and device security features. The company states that even if someone gains access to this data, it would be useless since it does not contain any debit or credit card details.
